Hosted and organized by the Seolak and Manhae Idea Practice Promotion Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and Sokcho City, the "2024 Seolak Musan Culture Festival" will be held for three days from the 7th to the 9th in Sokcho City.

 

The "2024 Seorak Musan Culture Festival" is a festival to commemorate the harmony and win-win spirit of Monk Musan, who worked mainly in the third parish of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order (Shinheungsa, Baekdamsa, and Naksansa Temple), and is the first event held this year to support culture and art and revitalize the local economy. 

 

Major programs include the Seolak Youth Culture Festival, a children's and youth competition, "Tastes in the Sokcho," a food festival involving more than 30 local companies, 50 free cultural experience events, and cultural and artistic performances such as busking. In particular, singer Davichi's celebratory performance is scheduled for the opening ceremony, which will be held from 6 p.m. on the 7th, and the group "HOOK," which is led by dancer Aiki and former Suufa winner, is scheduled to perform at 5 p.m. on the 9th, the last day of the event.

 

The National Youth Essay Competition and the National Children's Essay Competition will be available for on-site applications on the 8th, the day of the event, and participants will be provided with a small souvenir.

 

In the case of the Seorak Youth Culture Festival program led by children and teenagers, the national youth writing contest and the national children's drawing contest will begin on the 7th, and the national youth street dance festival will be held on the 9th, and winners will be awarded certificates such as the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Governor's Award and the Sokcho Mayor's Award. 

 

In addition, a variety of attractions and entertainments will be provided for three days, a festival official said. "For other event inquiries, you can ask for (re)seolak and Manhae ideology practice."
