▲ Yangyang Cultural Festival Sangbokgol Nongyo

The Yangyang Sangbokgol Nongyo performance, an intangible cultural asset of Gangwon State, will be held at 11 p.m. on the 19th at the multipurpose square next to the Yangyang Welcome Center.

Sangbokgol Nongyo is a Nongyo handed down in Sangbokgol, Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, and was designated as Gangwon State Intangible Cultural Property No. 26 in April 2013 in recognition of its artistic value, and has steadily contributed to the succession and development of traditional culture by introducing forgotten Nongyo and agricultural culture.

The performance was organized by the Sangbokgol Nongyo Preservation Society (preservation president Ahn Kwang-hyuk, holder Cho Kwang-bok), and was sung in the narrow fields or valley of Sangbokgol in Ganghyeon-myeon, and contained the contents of Kwonnong, Chunghyo, Aehyang, Geunmyeon, and Aejeong.

In addition, there will be a performance of Nongak musical instruments that promote the beauty of our farming songs and boost the excitement of visitors by recreating the entire farming process, including the sound of Seonggun, Mochi, Mochi, Mochi, and Seaweed.

A county official said, "We expect it to be a special time to feel the traditional folk songs of the region," adding, "We hope you will continue to watch our traditional culture with a lot of interest."

On the other hand, Jo Gwang-bok, the owner of Sangbok Nongyo, is a singer born in Sangbokgol, Kanghyeon-myeon, who has long been devoted to fostering and disseminating the transmission of the transferee, and the Sangbok Nongyo Preservation Society also regularly gathers to pass on the Sangbokgol Nongyo to the transferee students, devote himself to practice, and strive to preserve the Sangbokgol Nongyo tradition.
