The 2023 Yangyang Land Surfing Festival will be held at Yangyang Board Park and Jukdo Land Surfing Park for two days on the 11th and 12th.

 

The festival will be hosted by Yangyang-gun and organized by the Korea Land Surfing Association to provide opportunities for local youth, residents, and club members to participate together to expand the base of marine leisure tourism and grow the land surfing field, and 700 people, including 200 elementary school students, residents, hobbyists, and visitors, will participate.

 

The main contents of the festival include △land surfing experience △ board production experience △ surf art experience △land surfing demonstration.

 

At the festival, there was a surf art painting experience using surfboards and surf skateboards along with land surfing experience, board design and production experience, and free riding by middle and high-end people will be held to arouse interest in visitors and to be given an opportunity to exchange between local riders.

 

In addition, as a side event, a Surf Art class is being held for six elementary schools in the jurisdiction from October 1 to November 30.

 

The county expects the festival to foster land surfing as a leisure sport that contributes to the expansion of the local surfing business sector, provide opportunities to promote and experience various cultural and artistic activities related to surfing, and contribute to the expansion of Surf Art, a part of surfing culture, into a new cultural content business.

 

A festival official said, "I hope many people will participate in the Yangyang Land Surfing Festival to immerse themselves in the charm of Land Surfing and make pleasant memories."

 

Meanwhile, the county supported land surfing education for students and residents, including nine schools in the jurisdiction, this year following last year, to develop the local surfing culture industry and expand the local marine leisure tourism infrastructure.
