Sokcho City in Gangwon Province opened the Seorak Cultural Festival on the afternoon of October 6th.

The festival commemorates the 60th anniversary of the city’s promotion. The festival started with a mountain god ritual at Seoraksan Park in the morning.

Then, there was a parade on Rodeo Street and an official opening ceremony. The opening ceremony included speeches by the city mayor and the provincial governor, a ceremony for the past citizens who received awards, a launch of a new logo, a drone show, and a performance.

The drone show displayed 700 drones that symbolized the 60 years of history and the 100 years of future of Sokcho City. The festival also revealed a new font and character for the city.

The festival will last for three days until October 8th. There will be food, music, art, dance, archery, market, and military equipment exhibitions for visitors to enjoy.
