Inje-gun to hold 'Special Olympics Korea International Integrated Sports Competition'

Inje-gun announced that the Special Olympics Korea International Integrated Sports Competition, where the developmentally disabled and non-disabled people will be held from the 14th to the 16th in Inje-gun.

 

Integrated sports are sports activities in which disabled and non-disabled people train as a team and participate in games, and 410 players from 40 teams will participate in five sports: basketball (3-3), volleyball, soccer (seven players), floorball, and badminton.

 

In addition, 63 athletes from six teams from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Mongolia and China in the Special Olympics East Asian region will be accompanied.

 

Special Olympics Korea plans to deploy 37 clinical managers and medical support volunteers to conduct health check-up programs such as eye, oral, internal medicine, nutrition, health, and flexibility muscle tests for participating athletes to safely proceed with the competition.

 

Kwon Heon-joo, sports marketing manager, said, "We hope this competition will be an opportunity to improve awareness for a society where the disabled and non-disabled are together, and we will do our best to arrange medical staff and inspect facilities for the safety of players."
