The first Yeongrangho Cherry Blossom Festival in 2024, hosted by Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do (Mayor Lee Byung-sun), was completed.

The Yeongnangho Cherry Blossom Festival, originally planned, was in crisis due to delayed cherry blossom due to inclement weather, but the promotion of "Sokchoshi will buy one more cherry blossom!" which sublimated the sorrows of public officials who could not easily postpone or cancel the event into a desperate phrase, drew explosive interest and understanding from people, with 9,700 people visiting the venue in the first round in late March and more than 30,000 people visiting the venue in the second round in early April.

The first event, which took place from the 30th to the 31st of last month, focused on eco-friendly garden markets, organic product sales, and eco-friendly events such as eco-friendly exhibitions that save the earth and experience booths and experiences through recycling, while the second event from the 6th to the 7th was marked by the enthusiastic performance of popular buskers nationwide.

In addition, the fact that the venue was created so that visitors could stay for a long time while enjoying the prepared performance through the rental of picnic sets and the operation of the cart was meaningful in that it solidified the direction of the next festival.

In particular, through the activities of PD Kwon, Chani and Rayo, who announce the blooming of Yeongrangho Lake through SNS every day from the D-5 before the festival to the day of the event, SNS subscribers from all over the country visited the site to ask for photos.

Mayor Lee Byung-sun said, "First of all, I'm sorry that we didn't make it to the cherry blossom time," and added, "Since we saw the possibility of Yeongrangho Cherry Blossom Festival through this event, we will plan an event that will be with nature and permeate into nature next year, not an event that beats nature," and added, "I would like to thank everyone who visited the venue and enjoyed the cherry blossoms even though they did not bloom."

Meanwhile, the cherry blossoms of Yeongrangho Lake in Sokcho, which began to bloom on the last day of the event, are expected to be in full bloom this week.
