Goseong-gun announced that it will hold an "Artication Festa" from September 27 to 29 as part of the "Cultural Regional Revitalization Project in Response to the Crisis of Extinction" jointly organized by the Korea Culture and Arts Commission and the Goseong Cultural Foundation.

Goseong-gun explained that the artists participating in the festival have been 12 young artists who have participated in "Living for a Month" (June-July) and "Residential Myungpa" (August-September), and the Dalholmun Cooperative, which operates in Goseong, connected young artists to Myeongpa Village, and collaboration between local and foreign artists centered on Myeongpa Village as the theater company "Route" prepared its creations.

Various genres are also available. Visual arts, music, performances, dance, multiple arts and crafts are exhibited throughout Myeongpa Village.

Participating artists lived in a village guest house and were inspired by the nature of Goseong, the daily life of Myeongpa, and the stories of villagers and produced original works. Their works are organized to be viewed in various places in Myeongpa Village, such as guest houses, supermarkets, and welfare centers, and are the concept of a village gallery that can be seen on foot.

The highlight of this festival is the "Fantastic Song of Myeongpa" by the theater company Root. Root has already received favorable reviews by making the archive and production process of Ayajin Village into a play last year. At the business sharing meeting in July, he delivered a touching impression with a performance "Daylight," which deals with the creative inspiration of poet Lee Seong-sun and 12 artists.

In this performance, a creative play will be produced with the stories of the residents of Myeongpa Village on the stage of the abandoned warehouse in Myeongpa Village, where local residents will appear directly and art application artists will collaborate together to present a more special stage.

There will also be an invitational performance with meaning. There will be a performance by the "Gaehwagi Band," which belongs to the bassist "Lee Yu," who participated in the foundation's "Art Stay" last year. The enlightened band will showcase music from the days of Japanese colonial era, allowing villagers to experience nostalgia for the past, and for the younger generation, they will be able to feel the passion of art that made efforts for freedom of expression even in the days of oppression. This performance can be said to be a follow-up work conducted in order to form a continuous network of artists participating in the art stay.

An official from the Goseong Cultural Foundation said, "This art creation festival will be an important moment for Myeongpa Village to gain new life through the works created by artists," adding, "We hope to show the utility that art can change the region to local people, and to provide tourists with a special experience that combines art and local culture."

Meanwhile, Goseong-gun said that Art Creation Festa is expected to be a cultural response to the crisis of extinction, capturing the moment when art and village become one based on Goseong's rich cultural resources.
