▲ Sokcho City Extends 2024 Yeongnangho Cherry Blossom Festival

Sokcho City decided to extend the festival due to the delay in cherry blossom ahead of the "2024 Yeongnangho Cherry Blossom Festival" to be held from the 30th to the 31st.

The event prepared from the 30th to the 31st will proceed as originally planned, and some photo zones, night lighting zones, eco-friendly experiences, and busking performances will be operated once more on April 6-7 next week when cherry blossoms are expected to be in full bloom.

Yeongrangho Lake, which currently has no cherry blossoms, is expected to enjoy the prepared event as the spring snow falls in March and snow flowers are spectacular in the snow and the weather is also expected to be sunny.

On the other hand, the venue, which was originally scheduled for vehicle control, plans to allow vehicle access and one-way traffic, and to prevent safety accidents by deploying traffic control personnel throughout the element.

Sokcho Mayor Lee Byung-sun said, "It is regrettable that the cherry blossom season is delayed, but please understand that the Yeongrangho Cherry Blossom Festival is an event that marks the beginning of spring, and I hope citizens and tourists will visit Yeongrangho Lake to wake up the body and mind that have been cold throughout the winter and gain strong energy."
