Inje-gun, the 'AP River Clearer' to hold World Water Day celebrations in 2024.
The 2024 World Water Day celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. on March 22 at the Inje Front River and Jung-Ang Rest Area.
The event, which will be held for the second time following 2023 at the suggestion of the Inje Yongnup Ramsar Wetland City Regional Committee, will be joined by 21 institutional social groups in Inje-gun to prevent serious water shortages and water pollution and reflect on the importance of water.
Members of organizations in the Inje area participating in the event will collect various household wastes such as discarded vinyl and plastic in the 2km river section from Hapgangjeong to Jeongjung Rest Area and conduct river purification activities such as dropping EM mud balls to improve water quality contaminated by household sewage.
The ceremony will be held at the Jung-Ang Rest Area from 11:30 a.m. on the 22nd, and the event will award the Wonju Regional Environment Agency Award to Injecheon-ri-gil and Kim Chang-heum, director of the United Nations Center for Sustainable Development Education, who have been working steadily to preserve water quality.
