Yangyang-gun announced that the "Yangyang Wellness Rustic Festival," where you can enjoy the wellness experience in nature, was held in Haedam Village, a rural experience and recreation village, for two days on October 12 and 13.

Against the backdrop of Yangyang's beautiful mountains, valleys and rural villages, the festival was held with more than 100 people, including activity and wellness lovers and content creators.

"The festival was evaluated as a tourism product where visitors could have a creative and unique experience by linking trendy culture and unique tourism elements to the rural space, making it a successful case of revitalizing Yangyang's rural experience village and rural economy," the county said. "It consisted of activities such as healing trekking, trail running, forest yoga, and singing ball meditation, and wellness activities such as relaxation zone where you can relax while listening to music and food booths centered on local brands to help participants rest and recharge."

The Wellness Rustic Festival was organized in April by the Yangyang-gun Tourism Council (Sulremyangyang Social Cooperative, Yangyang-gun Rural Experience Village Council, and Surf City Cooperative), which was selected for the 2024 Rural Creature Support Project organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Participants said, "I was able to heal in the clean nature of Yangyang, away from my busy daily life, and I was able to feel the various charms of rural areas."

"I hope this festival became a precious memory to heal the body and mind in nature away from busy daily life," a festival official said. "We will continue to prepare more diverse and interesting events to promote Yangyang's various charms and promote rural tourism."

Meanwhile, Yangyang-gun and the Yangyang Tourism Council are pushing for a rural creativity support project in 2024, and plan to discover and promote a stay-type rural specialized theme tour program that allows visitors to enjoy seasonal specialized unique experiences in four areas: spring, summer, autumn and winter, centering on rural experience and recreation villages.
