Sokcho City announced that the "2024 Sokcho International Food Film Festival" held at Cheongho Beach in Sokcho from October 11 to 13 was successfully completed with a hot response from visitors.

 

The festival featured 20 short films and 5 feature films, and received great response by stimulating the audience's five senses through the operation of various auxiliary programs. The works selected in the short film contest included stories of different foods and cultures, providing different visual pleasures to the audience. In addition, a talk program related to the film was prepared to add meaning to the event by conducting in-depth discussions on the film and food culture.

 

The city said, "Cheongho Beach, where the festival was held, created an atmosphere as if it had become a huge outdoor movie theater with colorful food scents, and gave unforgettable memories to both local residents and tourists." The festival, which was held in Sokcho for the first time this year, was well received by many audiences as an original festival that combined food and movies in Sokcho's beautiful nature."

 

In particular, chef Jung Ji-sun, the queen of dim islands, who is gaining huge popularity as a Netflix entertainment show "Black and White Chef," attended the festival and presented a special mala dish, drawing attention from the audience. Along with chef Jung Ji-sun's cooking, the movie "Father's Malatang" was screened to provide a special experience in which the movie and food were harmonized. Many audiences said they had a special time because they could taste chef Jung Ji-sun's cooking and feel the story and emotion in the movie.

 

On the last day, the film "La Vie en Rose" was screened with a special dish presented by Chef Lee Seung-joon, who runs a French fine dining restaurant, to decorate the festival's finale. Based on his experience at a local Michelin restaurant in France, Chef Lee Seung-joon presented the hometown Normandy-style mussel stew of "La Vie en Rose," the heroine of "La Vie en Rose," and her favorite cocktail "Kir," and this special menu further boosted the romance of autumn night with the impression of the movie "La Vie en Rose."
