Sokcho City announced that the Seoul International Food Film Festival, which has been held in Seoul for the past nine years, will be renamed the "2024 Sokcho International Food Film Festival" from this year and will be held at Cheongho Beach in Sokcho for three days from October 11 to 13.

The event is hosted by the Sokcho International Food Film Festival Steering Committee, organized by the Seoul International Food Film Festival and the Sokcho Culture and Tourism Foundation, and sponsored by Gangwon State and Sokcho City. In particular, it is expected to be a richer and more colorful event through the Sokcho International Food Film Festival Steering Committee, which has been newly formed to operate the event.

The Seoul International Food Film Festival, which has been established as the country's first food-themed film festival for nine years since 2015, signed a business agreement between the Sokcho Culture and Tourism Foundation and the Seoul International Food Film Festival on September 6, changing the venue from Seoul to Sokcho from this year and changing the name of the event to Sokcho International Food Film Festival.

"This event, which will be an original festival where food and movies are combined against the backdrop of the beautiful nature of Sokcho, will be organized for all local residents and tourists to enjoy together," the city said. "We plan to screen 20 films (10 domestic and 10 overseas films) selected in the short film contest under the theme of 'Five Sense Satisfaction' until September 15, and will screen five feature films, including the opening film, and operate various auxiliary programs to capture the audience's five senses."

In addition, it plans to operate a variety of programs, including programs where chefs can enjoy movies while eating food presented, and participating booths featuring food and movies. Through this, it is expected to provide audiences with a unique food culture and a different experience of enjoying the stories in the movies together.

Meanwhile, the poster of the "2024 Sokcho International Food Film Festival" has been released to raise expectations for a movie trip satisfying the five senses, ranging from healing to finding a sustainable life. The poster consists of images reflecting Sokcho's characteristics with its natural scenery such as mountains, seas, and lakes, and designs using circular patterns reminiscent of film rolls in movies. The design containing nature and the sprout leaves that sprout from the English logo alphabet I dynamically capture the new beginning and excitement of the film festival that moved to Sokcho, creating expectations.

Lee Byung-sun, Mayor of Sokcho and Chairman of the Sokcho Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, "We will do our best to further solidify Sokcho's image as a cultural city through the 2024 Sokcho International Food Film Festival, which will start anew from Sokcho for the 10th time, leading to the final approval of the legal cultural city."
