Goseong-gun announced that it will hold the 8th Chodo Sea urchin Festival for three days from the 19th to the 21st to promote the public distribution of sea urchin, the representative product of Chodo Port, and excellent tourism resources of Chodo Port.

The festival will allow visitors to concentrate on enjoying the event without the opening and closing ceremonies, and the main event programs include programs using sea urchin (sharing sea urchin and seaweed soup, making sea urchin bibimbap, making sea urchin sushi, making sea urchin seafood pancake), seafood auction experience, and port singing festival.

The first sea urchin festival was held in 2006 and was held for six years until 2011, but it was suspended for 12 years due to the decrease in sea urchin production and the influence of COVID-19 and then resumed last year.

The county said, "In order to provide visitor convenience and create a pleasant festival environment, we plan to divide the festival by theme such as main stage, experience event, tasting event, and port marketplace, and install tourist-oriented parking information signs and one-way banners to increase the accessibility of tourists visiting the festival in hot weather."

In addition, for the successful hosting of the festival, leaflets were distributed, banners were posted, and Edballoon was installed on the day of the event to create a long-distance festival atmosphere and induce participation in the festival, he added.

"Through this festival, we will provide tourists with things to enjoy, see, and eat during the holiday season, making a leap into a stay-at-home tourist destination and establishing an excellent tourism infrastructure to visit again by promoting the sale of marine products," said Choi Ho-seon, head of the marine and fisheries division.
