Yangyang-gun announced that it has been recruiting participants for the "2024 Yangyang River National Marathon," which runs against the backdrop of beautiful Yangyang Namdaecheon and beautiful East Sea, on a first-come, first-served basis since the 21st.

The competition will be held on September 28 and will be operated as a course where you can enjoy Namdaecheon, Naksan Beach, and Dongho Beach. The general public will be half, 10km, 5km, and Namdaecheon-gil walking events. In particular, this year, the general public's half and 10km course will be added with a circular course around Namdaecheon so that participants can fully enjoy the colorful scenery of Namdaecheon.

In the case of the half course, the half course will start from Yangyang Welcome Center, pass through Namdaecheon Embankment Road and Naksan Bridge, and the 10-km course will be held on an official course that returns Naksan Bridge and the Provincial Office of Education International Education Center through Namdaecheon Embankment Road from Yangyang Welcome Center.

On the day of the competition, the 2024 National Middle and High School Marathon will be held in the 10km (high school) and 5km (middle school) courses that are recognized in Gyeonggi Province.

A county official said, "2024 Yangyang River National Marathon," which marks its third anniversary this year, is organized by Yangyang-gun, the Korea Athletics Federation, and G1 Broadcasting, organized by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Athletics Federation and G1 Broadcasting, and is designed to promote the beautiful scenery of Yangyang Namdaecheon Stream, which has established itself as a healing space where local culture and clean nature are harmonized, through marathoners across the country.

Meanwhile, the military said early bird participants who applied until the 14th will be given a discount of 5,000 won, all participants will be provided with various souvenirs, and a total of 40 million won in prize money and prizes will be provided in both the general and elite departments.
