The atmosphere of the Cultural Olympics on the last weekend of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics also reached its peak.
The "Gangwon 2024 K-culture Festival," a cultural Olympic performance program organized by Gangwon State, was held at Pyeongchang Dome in Yongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang on the 27th and at Gwandong Hockey Center in Gangneung on the 28th.
First of all, popular trot singers such as Kim Hee-jae, Park Gun, Cho Myung-seop, Yang Ji-eun, and Hong Ji-yoon boosted the excitement of the Pyeongchang performance, following the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Dance Company, the 2nd Corps Taekwondo Demonstration Group, the Harmonize Choir, Poppin Hyun-joon & Park Ae-ri. Governor Kim Jin-tae and Pyeongchang-gun Governor Shim Jae-guk also sat down. On the 28th, stages such as hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo and popular group Zero Base One, as well as Bibi, rapper Bio, Dancing Crew Bebe, and Gunjo Crew met with youth players and audiences.
The cultural performances of national art organizations organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gangwon 2024 Competition Organizing Committee, and Gangneung City at the Gangneung Art Center filled the audience even on weekends, recording a sold-out procession.
The National Choir's "Exciting Chorus Tour" performance on the 26th was also watched by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon, National Assemblyman Kwon Sung-dong, and Gangneung Mayor Kim Hong-kyu, while the National Opera Company performed with conductor Kim Kwang-hyun and the Gangneung Philharmonic Orchestra on the 27th.
Visitors also followed the "Great Stories of Saving the Earth" held by the exhibition of the Cultural Olympics. Governor Kim Jin-tae and others visited the exhibition site divided into Pyeongchang Daegwallyeong Training Center and Gyeongpo Beach over the weekend.
Sports and culture were also harmonized in Gangneung Training Center. The Gangwon 2024 Organizing Committee is conducting a K-pop cover dance learning program at the Youth Olympic Games Lounge during the competition. Starting with Le Seraphim's "Perfect Night" on the 20th, he learned the choreography of Seventeen's "God of Music" on the 22nd, Ive's "Baddie" on the 24th, and Jungkook's "Standing next to you" on the 26th. It will be followed by Baby Monster's song on the 28th, followed by NCT 127's song on the 30th.
Performances by youth microphones, local musicians, and music groups are meeting audiences every day in the Play Winter Zone at major stadiums such as Gangneung Hockey Center, Jeongseon High1 Resort, and Hoengseong Welli Healy. Choi Jong-gu, chairman of the Gangwon 2024 Organizing Committee, said, "I hope that the players will fully enjoy not only the games but also various K-culture programs during the competition."
