Yangyang-gun holds the 13th National Dongguri Traditional Folk Song Contest
The National Dongguri Traditional Folk Song Contest is a traditional folk song contest that has been held since 2001 to honor "Dongguri," a singer who was treated as a musician by Sejo with his outstanding singing skills, and to preserve and transmit our own traditional sound.
Organized by Yangyang Cultural Center, the competition will feature general organizations, individuals, and singers from the university from all over the country to compete with traditional folk songs such as farming songs, labor songs, and fish songs.
A total of 21 teams will be awarded through the preliminary round on November 7 and the final round on November 8, including one team for the integration, the best, excellent, and encouragement (2 teams), the individual best, excellent, and encouragement (2 teams) for the general division, the best, excellent, and encouragement (2 teams) for the university division, and the Dongguri Sound Award.
In particular, it will provide unique attractions such as restoring and reproducing King Sejo's march before the main competition on November 8 to promote the historical origin of the Dongguri Traditional Folk Song Competition, and invite performances such as the newly created Chwitadae, the previous year's integrated grand prize team, and professional Korean traditional music performances will be held at Yangyang Cultural Center this year to please the eyes and ears of the audience.
