Inje-gun announced that the "2024 Oxfam Trailwalker," a global donation project held with Oxfam Korea, an international relief and development organization, was successfully completed last weekend (May 25-26).

"Oxfarm Trailwalker" is a challenging donation challenge in which four people form a team to complete 100km for 38 hours, and it was first held in 2017 in Korea and marked its seventh anniversary this year.

"There were 195 teams and 780 foreign participants participating in the challenge, and 105 foreign participants were the highest ever," the county said. "This year, we piloted 25km courses along with the existing 100km and 50km courses, and various age groups from 13 to 77 years old participated."

Participants challenged to complete the race while passing through major attractions in Inje, including Gaetgol Natural Recreation Forest, Daeamsan Yongneup Natural Ecology School, and Seorakmajubo-gil, where you can see the ridge of Seoraksan Mountain at a glance.

Among the participating teams, 140 teams succeeded in completing the race, and the number of individual runners, regardless of the team, was 677, or 87% of the total participants.

The first place overall (first place in the men's team) was the "Ultra Santa" team, which succeeded in completing the 100km race in 12 hours, 39 minutes, and 37 seconds. The "DOYO" team, which recorded 15 hours, 32 minutes, and 52 seconds, topped the mixed team, while the "Daljon Sumacle I Love You" team, which recorded 17 hours, 24 minutes, and 47 seconds, topped the women's team.

In addition, the "Unstoppable Challenge" team with Kim Mi-soon, who cannot see due to first-degree acquired visual impairment, and her husband, Kim Hyo-geun, who served as her guide, and the "White Crow Brewing" team with Roger Shepherd, who first completed the inter-Korean section between the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range since the division, all succeeded in completing the race.

Meanwhile, the donation project raised a total of 222.5 million won, and all donations raised through Oxfam Trailwalker participation fees and pre-donation funding will be delivered to relief sites around the world suffering from poverty and used for drinking water, sanitation, livelihood, and educational programs.

This year, the "Cleanwater" team, which brings together office workers in their 40s in different occupations, raised 5.7 million won, the largest amount. The top-ranked team in the completion record category and the top-ranked team in the donation amount will be inducted into the Oxfam Trailwalker Hall of Fame that year.

We express our respect and gratitude to all participants who have taken on the challenges that go beyond their physical and mental limits for donation and sharing, and we also sincerely thank Inje-gun officials and volunteers in Gangwon-do for doing their best to the end for a safe competition, said Ji Management CEO of Oxfam Korea.

Choi Sang-ki, governor of Inje-gun, said, "I am glad that the 4th event with Inje-gun was completed safely," and added, "I am very meaningful to introduce beautiful Inje places on the journey for life."
