The Goseong Cultural Foundation announced that it will run the "2024 Craft Week" event to be held in Goseong-gun from the 17th to the 26th.

Goseong-gun was selected as a base city for craft culture to hold Craft Week together in January, the foundation said. "2024 Craft Week," which marks its seventh anniversary this year, is an event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Craft and Design Culture Promotion Agency."

Goseong-gun has organized Goseong's clean nature and eco-friendly craft experience with the slogan of "Craft Ecology, Green Goseong" as its core contents. In addition, it is operated in seven attractive places so that you can travel to the entire Goseong-gun beyond simple exhibitions and experiences.

At the "Dalhall Cultural Center" (Gansung), you can see curated exhibitions of everyday crafts that match local specialties. In addition, "Gansunghyanggyo," where you can meet the spiritual culture of Goseong, will hold exhibitions of works by Gakjang, the only intangible heritage in the field of traditional craft technology in Goseong, and lectures and experiences of traditional Korean printing culture.

Art Hotel Remaker (Myeongpa), the only border area in Korea, will hold a Crafted Goseong that allows visitors to appreciate various views of local craftsmen inside and outside the region under the theme of Goseong's nature and culture, and a linked experience event will run a "Scented Goseong" that creates the scent of Goseong.

Various hands-on events will also be held. "Song Ji-ho Green Craft" and "Yaaajin Eco Craft" offer eco-friendly and new utilization craft experience programs such as making block-printed eco-bags with plants around Song Ji-ho in the clean nature of Goseong, making card wallets using scraps of leather, and making mobiles and air fresheners using beach cleans and marine waste.

Each event is held on weekends and is operated by pre-booking. In addition, a new medical life culture promotion event will be held to protect the environment through clothing exchange. 21% of the party of the "Re-wear Institute" will be held at the Administrative Welfare Center in Toseong-myeon to provide opportunities for sustainable craft life and environmental protection practices. In the "Unique Garden with Craft," an event that has already been pre-booked, an experience event will be held to share sewing skills with the wisdom of the alpine people.

An official from the Goseong Cultural Foundation said, "We hope that the 2024 Craft Week event will promote the attractiveness of the region while further strengthening the foundation of craft culture in the region," and added, "We will continue to play the role of a hub city for craft culture so that we can establish ourselves as a sustainable craft city thinking about nature and the environment."
