Sokcho City announced at 8:30 a.m. on the 20th that it will hold the "Cheongdaesan 230m, Gangwon's 20 Best Mountain Climbing Certification Challenge" event in the area of Cheongdaesan Mountain.

The event, which was organized as part of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation's top 20 certification challenge project, will be held to celebrate the fact that Mt. Cheongdaesan has been selected as one of the "2024 best mountains in Gangwon." The certification challenge will run until October.

Cheongdaesan Mountain is the third of Sokcho's eight scenic views, and the slope is gentle and easy to climb, so even beginners can easily climb to the top. From the top, you can see the scenery of Sokcho, Cheongcho Lake, and Seoraksan Mountain, and there are also six-pronged forest paths where you can enjoy forest bathing.

More than 100 participants will depart from the parking lot of Cheongdaesan Mountain at 8:30 a.m. and climb Cheongdaesan Mountain to conduct a certification campaign.

An official from Sokcho City said, "We will continue to actively promote Cheongdaesan Mountain to promote it and establish itself as a representative mountain of Sokcho along with Seoraksan Mountain through the 'Cheongdaesan 230m, Gangwon 20 Famous Mountain Climbing Certification Challenge' event."

Meanwhile, anyone can participate in the certification challenge event through the BAC (Black Yak Alpine Club) application. After signing up for membership, it will be certified by mobile phone GPS and finally approved after verification of normal on-site photos, and if you climb to Gangwon's 20 best mountains, you can receive two kinds of perfect patches.
